If you have ever attended the ChocolateFest organized by the Lake Sunapee Region Chamber of Commerce (LSRCC), you know what a chore it is to try and eat 12 samples of chocolate and then decide which one you liked best. Bistro Nouveau has had the honor of winning more than once in various categories, including people’s choice, judges’ choice, and best presentation.
It has been a couple of years since the event was held—attributable to timing issues with the “chocolateteers” and the venues—but ChocolateFest is coming back this year, scheduled to be held at The Center at Eastman on Sunday, March 19 beginning at 4 p.m. with a whole new format.
“We’re so excited to bring this back in a new way in such a beautiful place,” said LSRCC Executive Director Sara Colson. “The Center at Eastman has the upscale feel we want for this event.”
Attendees will still sample chocolates from many vendors, but there will be Bistro Nouveau appetizers to dial-back the chocolate rush and some wine pairings to help bring out the flavors of the chocolate offerings. In the past, samples have included traditional items such as truffles and cake, but there was also chocolate-covered bacon one year, which this past attendee must say was delicious.
Ticket prices, possible lunch or dinner specials featuring chocolate, and other details are still in the works, but make sure to put this delicious event on your calendar and watch Eastman Highlights for ticket availability because this event might just sell out.
