In a kaleidoscopic turn of the eye, the views outside our windows have swapped out the vibrant colors of fall to the muted tones of the advent of winter. Soon, holidays will fill calendars and the smoky scent of woodburning stoves wafting from chimneys hint at the warmth beyond windows aglow with Edison’s light.
It seems that I write often about changes and contrasts. And so it is with this issue, from the practicalities of Aging in Place in Eastman for senior citizens to the wide-eyed enthusiasm of youth in All the Way to Knoxville. And journeys: for Zoe in her teens, and Joe, in his 80s; for two Toms jumping from their college days to jobs in Eastman; and for Kyle—well, read One Man’s Joy: Serve and LISTEN.
Like daylight in November, time has a way of slipping away quietly. As I find myself behind the steering wheel of Eastman Living going into another year, I anticipate more change.
Warmly,
